Owi – Case study

Introduction

Our most recent work is developing and producing a managing system for Osrodek Wczesnej Interwencji. Our client, Early Intervention Centre of The Polish Association for Persons with Mental Handicap, decided to change the old, imperfect application to a new one, designed precicely to fit their specific needs.

Analysis

We began the work with thorough examination and settlement of the specification of commisioned product. Our main analyst went to client's place in convenient time for the client so the time amount spent on elaboration was short yet fruitful.

Thereafter we could begin the look-out for most appropriate framework foundation for our needs. When the choice was narrowed to two frameworks – NakedObjects i JMatter, we decided to take them into the battle conditions. Two programmers were working independently on two versions of the application. Finally, after a few days of work, we chose JMatter as a more convinient and impressive framework.

Solution

The work at full speed began at the end of February. After three weeks the tailored solution was ready for presentation. Afterwards we've done some minor modifications on request.

At the end, our employees prepared the training for client's staff. In less then two hours our qualified trainer taught participants all that is needed to use our application in the most efficient way.

The quality of our service is proved by the high loyalty of our clients. Thanks to developing the easy-to-use, yet robust, solutions, the board of directors of the centre decided that the application will be much more at use. In the near future we will enhance the abilities of the program, which turned out to be a very important element in managing the modern company such as Osrodek Wczesnej Interwencji.
