Irepas – Case study

Introduction

The experience we have gained by the project for SteelOrbis resulted in acquiring a similar contract from a company cooperating with our previous client. The Irepas company deals with similar meetings and conferences on the resilient market of steel producers and manufacturers in Turkey. We were commissioned to redesign the company’s website into a fully functional modern informative and organisational centre.

Analysis

As a result of the prior functionality analysis of SteelOrbis Events, our client defined their demands very precisely. The system project was based on business process modelling notation (BPMN) and diagrams of UML language with the use of Enterprise Architect tool. Some features were deliberately omitted, such as language options (Irepas is available only in English language version) at the expense of larger functionality for logged in users.

The users may easily search through information about coming, ongoing and previous events, as well as register for future ones. It is also possible to pay with a credit card for stay at conferences. The payment process is secured by an authorised payment provider. Registered users may discuss with each other by means of dedicated internal forums, moderated by content managers. In order to meet the requirements of this application, a module of simple questionnaires was developed, which was then integrated with a reliable solution JFreeChart. Each of logged in users manages to some extent the information about their company by verifying newly registered users or by updating the information about their company.

Administrators may prepare the materials in the background, publish or remove them, manage the system users, easily change the contents of the website with the use of the implemented WYSIWYG editor.

Solution

Just as with SteelOrbis Events, we also took advantage of modern technologies in this case. The system was created with the use of GWT framework, the whole application was developed from the scratch which resulted in the code integrity and homogeneity. Acegi Security was used to secure the website.

Three months after the beginning of the project, the final version of the application was given to the client and had been tested by external company. Afterwards it was introduced to the public, with no further delays or remarks from our client.
